How to Install PBR Fence Panels

PBR fence panels, also known as Professional Bull Riding panels, are the types of fence panels used by rodeos and livestock owners for large, particularly difficult-to-contain, livestock. These panels are made of heavy-duty steel and are usually powder coated for longer life in harsh elements. Knowing how to assemble them is essential in keeping the animals secure.

  1. Installing PBR Fence Panels

    • 1

Begin by laying out your panels on the ground in the formation you intend to install. Make sure they are lined up so that the pin side matches the receiver side of the next panel. These panels are heavy, so having an assistant is important to avoid injury.

    • 2

Raise each panel and its neighbor, and attach the pins to the receivers. By moving one panel slightly in front of the other, you can balance them to stand while you assemble the remaining sections.

    • 3

Line up the panels in their final formation. Using your fencing tool, wire each pin and receiver tightly together to keep the pins from slipping out of the receiving tubes. Some panels come with hooks to prevent this, which renders this step unnecessary.

    • 4

Check for sharp edges on the wire and panels. Blunt them with your fencing tool. Sharp edges can be deadly to both rider and livestock.
