How do swine perspire?

Swine perspire differently than humans. Humans have sweat glands all over their body, allowing them to cool down by secreting sweat. Swine do not have these glands, instead they rely on other mechanisms to cool down. One of these mechanisms is wallowing in mud or water. This helps to cool their body by transferring heat from the skin to the water or mud. Additionally, swine have a layer of fat under their skin that acts as an insulator and helps to keep them warm in cold weather and helps to prevent heat loss in warm weather. Finally, swine also pant to help cool down, just like dogs do.
