What was the first clone animal?

The first cloned animal was a sheep named Dolly. She was born on July 5, 1996, at the Roslin Institute in Scotland.

Dolly was created using a process called somatic cell nuclear transfer, where the nucleus of a cell from an adult sheep was transferred into an egg cell that had its own nucleus removed.

While there were other cloning attempts before Dolly, she was the first to be successfully born and live to adulthood.
