What does hyena eat?

Hyenas are carnivorous and opportunistic feeders, meaning they will eat whatever meat they can find. Their diet consists mainly of ungulates, such as wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and antelope. They also eat carrion (dead animals) and sometimes raid human settlements for livestock or garbage. Hyenas are voracious eaters and can consume up to 30% of their body weight in a single meal. They have powerful jaws and teeth that can crush bones, and their digestive systems are able to process even the toughest of meats. Hyenas are also known to eat insects, birds, reptiles, and even other hyenas.
