How to Bathe the Head of a Chicken

Chickens can be raised as pets or active members of a farm household. A household that coops chickens generally rears them for meat, for eggs or as show chickens. The latter are chickens raised to be judged during specialty poultry conventions or state fairs. Typically, show chickens are the only chickens to ever receive a water-based bath, as food-stuff chickens primarily depend on dust baths.

Put the chicken into the bucket. Allow the chicken to adjust to being in water. Once the chicken is calm, wring out the sponge. Gently wash the head of the chicken from front to back starting at the beak and slowly brushing the sponge to the neck.
