How to Mix Albon

Albon is a low-dosage, rapidly absorbed drug created by Pfizer Animal Health to treat a number of bacterial infections in dogs, cattle, poultry and cats. The drug comes in several forms, including premixed liquid, capsule and injectable. The only form of Albon that needs to be mixed by the pet parent is the injectable Albon. A prescription is required for Albon in all forms and always comes with directions. However, if you have lost your directions to mix your injectable Albon, follow these few easy steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the liquid part of the Albon medication upside down in one hand. With the other hand, push a clean sterile syringe into the rubber seal on the vial.

    • 2

Pull back slowly on the syringe plunger to fill it with the Albon liquid solution. As the vial empties, you may need to withdraw the needle until it is almost out of the vial to get the last few drops out. Withdraw the needle from the vial.

    • 3

Insert the needle into the second Albon vial, which contains the dry powder. Push the syringe plunger to empty the contents of the liquid vial into the dry vial.

    • 4

Remove the needle from the dry vial and gently swirl and shake the vial holding both dry and liquid compounds. Mix until all powder is dissolved.
