How to Remove Warts From Animals

Warts appear as small, cauliflower-shaped growths. Older animals often exhibit a single wart. Younger animals are more vulnerable to getting more than one wart at a time. Warts are an infectious disease that is highly contagious among animals. Animals that have immature immune systems are most susceptible. Although most wart-causing viruses can infect all animals, certain species such as dogs, horses and cattle are more affected.

Instructions

    • 1

Place duct tape on the wart, making sure it stays secure for a week.

    • 2

Remove the duct tape and soak the wart.

    • 3

File or trim the wart with a emery board or nail file. A pumice stone can also be used.

    • 4

Reapply duct tape and repeat the process several days later if the wart has not been removed completely.

    • 5

If the skin turns red and puffy, leave the wart area uncovered so that it may dry out. After it returns to its usual color, continue the process to remove the wart completely.
