Instructions

    • 1

Read the vaccine label's instructions for when and how to administer to the sheep. Three methods for vaccinations includes under the skin (recommended), in the muscle and topically.

    • 2

Write down the lot number on the vaccine's bottle, date of use and reason for application. Record keeping in a notebook helps track vital information, especially for vaccines given during a particular time of year or follow-up booster shots.

    • 3

Obtain a syringe with 18 gauge needles, 5/8 inches in length. This size handles most injections with the option of 1/2 to 3/4 inch, 16 or 17 gauges.

    • 4

Use a disinfectant to sterilize the syringe making sure to rinse well. Use only sterile needles. Disposable syringes and needles offer the best protection against contamination.

    • 5

Select an injection location either on the side of the neck or at the lower area of the rib cage directly behind the front leg's armpit.

    • 6

Clean the vaccination area with alcohol and administer the needle under the skin unless stated otherwise on the label.

    • 7

Store unused medicine at recommended temperatures located on the label, typically refrigeration.
