How many animals die a year from abuse?

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), approximately 10 million animals die each year from abuse in the United States. This number includes companion animals, such as dogs and cats, as well as farm animals, such as cows, pigs, and chickens. The ASPCA also estimates that an additional 100 million animals are abused each year but do not die.
