How to Mix Salt & Manure

Salt is often added to chicken manure to ferment before adding the mixture to fodder for livestock. Adding salt to the manure helps it ferment without forming harmful bacteria. You can mix the fermented manure with fodder at up to 40 percent ratio to add nutrients. Chicken manure contains:11.4 percent water, 28.7 percent protein, 13.84 percent fiber, 7.8 percent calcium, 2.1 percent phosphorus and vitamin B.
