Remington SS 50Q Metal Bucket Feeder Assembly Instructions

The Remington Company makes a large variety of automatic feeders for wildlife and farm animals. The SS 50Q bucket feeder is a small feeder that has some of the conveniences of Remington's larger barrel feeders. This feeder holds 6.5 gallons -- or 100 lbs. -- of dry corn. It includes a timer that can be set for up to 10, daily automatic feedings. It works by dropping feed onto a plate. The plate spins at feeding time, scattering the corn.

Instructions

    • 1

Unpack all pieces from the carton. Separate the working components from the screws, nuts and bolts.

    • 2

Locate the drop spout, a short, black, funnel-like object with four pre-drilled holes. Align the holes in the drop-spout with the four small holes in the bottom of the bucket. Use the four small bolts to attach the drop spout to the outside bottom of the bucket. Secure them with the small nuts.

    • 3

Locate the brackets on the power unit. Line these up with the holes on either side of the bottom of the bucket. Use the included screws to secure the power unit to the reinforced portion of the bottom of the bucket. Center the rotating throw-plate beneath the drop spout.

    • 4

Set the timer to determine the frequency at which the feeder distributes the grain. Set it with the duration of throws at each feeding. It can be set for up to 10 feedings per day. Set each feeding to last between 1 to 20 seconds. Vary the plate speed to throw corn up to 30 ft.

    • 5

Use a rope or cable to hang the assembled feeder to a limb or other support. This applies only to a hanging feeder.
