Things You'll Need
- Dry grain complete bull feed (available at feed stores)
- Foraging pastures
Instructions
Mix the bull's feed together in a large trough or bucket using a pitch fork. This mix should be about four parts dry grain complete bull feed to one part protein ration.
Separate the mix into equal parts, placing each part into a large plastic bucket. Each bull should get one bucket of food.
Place the mix in the bull's pen.
Allow the bulls to graze in an open pasture for several hours a day.
Observe each bull's body shape to make sure that it is getting enough nutrients. Ideally, mature bulls should eat about 30 to 35 pounds of food a day, with five to seven pounds coming from the grain mixture and the rest from grazing.
