How to Keep Chicken Water Feeders Algae-Free

The organic material in water can feed algae blooms and cause the algae to grow on the inside of a chicken waterer. See-through waterers are more susceptible to algae growth because of the sunlight. Parasites feeding on the algae inside the waterer can be ingested by the chickens and become internal parasites. You need to keep your chicken waterers algae-free to ensure your chickens have access to clean drinking water at all times.
