Things You'll Need
- Wheat germ
- Rabbit feed
Instructions
Prepare roughly four-fifths of your usual rabbit feed, measured by volume.
Measure the remaining fifth in wheat germ. Whole wheat germ is the most suitable for rabbits, since it is not so fine that it will fall through the rest of their feed and be left uneaten.
Observe the rabbits to make sure that they are, in fact, eating the supplement. Some rabbits may resist the addition.
If any rabbits refuse to eat the wheat germ supplement, mix it into the rabbit's everyday feed in smaller quantities, slowly introducing it in greater amounts. If you are preparing your rabbit for a show, begin the altered diet at least two weeks before the date of the show.
As always when introducing new feed to a pet or livestock, monitor individual animals for signs of allergic reaction or adverse effects.
