How to Install an Automatic Horse Waterer

A horse needs a gallon of clear drinking water per 100 lbs. of body weight. An automatic horse waterer ensures that the horse can drink when thirsty and that the water is not soiled by the elements or the excrement of other animals. An automatic horse waterer uses a mechanical switch that the horse triggers when it goes to drink. The switch opens the flow of water and keeps the water running as long as the horse drinks. When the horse leaves, the switch turns the water off.
