How to Prepare Poultry Feed

Use a commercially prepared poultry feed for young, growing chicks to ensure they have all the nutrition they need. Otherwise, prepare your own poultry feed with a mix of grains, legumes and seeds. Make more or less, depending on the size of your flock. Store the feed in an airtight container. In addition to the feed mix, offer your flock table scraps, such as stale bread, peelings, leafy vegetables and milk. Whenever possible, raise your flock free-range so that they may forage for bugs and grass.
