Instructions
Purchase one 25-lb. bag of mash (ground grains) containing 16 to 17 percent protein for every half-dozen chickens. This will keep you stocked and able to feed without always having to purchase more bags.
Purchase a bag of dog food. You will not be feeding your chickens the same amount of dog food as the mash. Therefore, purchase a 25- to 50-lb. bag to last you a long time.
Mix each chicken's feeder with mash and a small handful of dog food. Check on the chickens four times a day (in the morning, afternoon, dusk, and before you go to bed). Always keep their feeders full of mash and the small handful of dog food. As time passes, the chicken's egg production will rise and you will have an abundance of high quality eggs.
Instructions for Chicken Egg Coop Feeding
Raising chickens to produce a steady supply of fresh eggs to consume as well as sell is a smart and economic choice. However, feeding chickens isn't as easy as throwing a handful a grain and waiting for the eggs to be laid. You will have to know exactly how and what you should feed the chickens to make sure that egg production is frequent.
