What does butterwort eat?
Butterworts are carnivorous plants that primarily feed on insects. They attract their prey using sticky, glistening droplets that cover the leaves of the plant. Once the insect lands on the leaf, it becomes stuck and unable to escape. The plant then slowly digests the insect, absorbing the nutrients from its body. Some butterwort species are even known to capture small vertebrates, like frogs and lizards.
