Can you bait deer in Ohio?

Yes. Bait can be used while deer hunting on private land in Ohio during firearm, muzzleloader and archery deer seasons, provided such bait are grains including, but not limited to corn, wheat, oats, or soy beans; fruits including, but not limited to apples, bananas or grapes; vegetables not containing roots such as lettuce, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, beets, turnips and rutabagas, except onions and parsnips are permitted provided the tops removed; commercially sold deer lure, scent, paste, gel or block.

It is unlawful bait animals or parts; mineral salt licks used solely as attractants; food, grains or fruits that bear any indication they are to be consumed by humans with the exception of commercially available deer lure or attractants as described above
