Increase the amount of protein-rich foods you feed your goats. Goats will need maximum amounts of protein if their milk is going to be as heavy in fat as cow milk. Though they will not eat much meat because of their herbivore status, you can dice up some boiled eggs and mix it in with their food. You also can buy some chemically enhanced goat foods at a farm-supply store, but these are more dangerous to the goat's health and might affect your milk with the addition of synthetic hormones.
Increase other essential vitamins that you goat eats. Make sure you purchase goat food that is the richest in vitamins. Though this kind of food will be more expensive, it will increase the fat content in your goat's milk by a considerable amount. If you do not have access to vitamin-rich goat food, simply purchase some vitamin supplements and mix them in with the goat food.
Keep your goat well-fed and well-watered. Make sure that they have enough to eat at all times. A fatter goat will produce fatter milk. Also, the goat will not be able to produce as much milk if it is dehydrated. Make sure the goats' water pans are filled at all times. Also, use mineral water to increase the goat's vitamin and mineral intake. Mineral water is more expensive, but the minerals it contains will help increase the fat in the goat's milk.
How to Get the Fat up in Goat's Milk
Producing milk is one of the most common reasons why farmers keep goats. Not only does goat milk have certain nutrients not found in cow milk it is also smoother and easier to work with because it is lower in lactose. The only issue with goat milk is that it sometimes does not have the fullness of cow milk. This is because goats do not produce fat-heavy milk like most cows do. However, you can do several things to make the milk of your goat fuller and richer.
