Infant Formula
-
Add 2 or 3 tablespoons of corn syrup to raw, fresh cow's milk or to whole milk from the grocery store when bottle feeding baby goats.
Coaxing a Kid to Nurse
-
Put the syrup on your fingers, and once the kid is nursing strongly, slip the bottle or syringe filled with formula into the kid's mouth beside your fingers.
Emergency Energy Booster for a Sick Goat
-
Mix with water or milk and pour into the goat's mouth using a soda bottle as a container or use a large animal syringe to squirt it into the back of the throat. Make sure to only give small portions at a time, and make sure the animal is swallowing.
Mixed with Hay as an Energy Boost
-
Add to hot water and mix with hay for an added energy boost. Use about one bucket of water to two square bales of hay. Be careful not to allow the hay to mold, as goats are sensitive to moldy hay.
Cautionary Note
-
Check with your veterinary or an experienced goat owner before adding supplements to goat feed. Goats need roughage in their diet and have some other fairly specific dietary requirements. A goat that is not eating may not be receiving the correct balance of food or may have an illness that requires veterinary attention.

Corn Syrup As a Food Supplement to Goat Feed
The primary use of corn syrup in goat feed is as part of a milk formula for infants who cannot be fed by their mother. It may also be used as a feed additive or as an emergency food for a goat that is having feeding problems.
