Instructions
Feeding Corn Syrup to Goats
Fill a baby's bottle with either fresh goat or cow's milk or store-bought whole cow's milk.
Heat the milk in the bottle up to 103 degrees F.
Add 3 tbsp. of corn syrup to the bottle, and mix.
Cut a large X shape in the end of the nipple on the bottle. This allows for milk to pass through faster to the baby goat.
Hold the baby goat in your lap, and open its mouth using one hand.
Shove the nipple into the goat's mouth. This may be a messy process, but it's necessary to ensure that the goat is eating enough. Clean up any mess using paper towels.
Speak calmly to the goat and make sucking sounds with your mouth. These sounds can encourage the goat to start suckling on the bottle.
Hold the bottle up slightly above the goat's head, to allow it to nurse in the proper stance. Its head should be pointing up, with its neck extended.
Repeat this process throughout the day. It may take a few days for the goat to figure out that the bottle contains food.
