- 2 pieces lumber, 1 inch by 12 inches by 8 feet
- 1 piece lumber, 1 inch by 6 inch by 8 feet
- 2 pieces lumber, 2 inches by 4 inches by 8 feet
- 1 piece lumber, 1 inch by 4 inches by 8 feet
- 1 L-bracket, 8 inch
- Needle nose pliers
- Box 1 ½-inch wood screws
- Box 2-inch wood screws
- Box 2 ½-inch wood screws
- 1 length light chain, 12 inches long
- 1 screw eye
- 1 small S-hook
Instructions
Cut all wood on table saw or use skill saw, positioning saw horses to support the lumber. Use square to ensure straight cuts.
Assemble the floor.
Attach legs.
Build and attach the ̶0;stay̶1; bar.
Attach the neck restraint.
Cut one of the 1-by-12s into two 48-inch lengths.
Cut one of the 2-by-4s into four 18-inch lengths.
Cut one of the 2-by-4s into two 23-inch lengths and one 48-inch length.
Cut the 1-by-6 into two 23-inch lengths.
Cut the 1-by-4 into two 12-inch lengths, cutting one end of each at a 45-degree angle.
Place the two, 48-inch 1-by-12s side by side. Align the two, 23-inch 2-by-4s at opposite ends of the 1-by-12s, positioning them 1 inch from the end of the boards. Using 6 of the 2-inch wood screws per 2-by-4-support piece, attach using the electric drill and screwing down from the top of the floor.
Using the 1 ½-inch screws and the electric drill, screw the two, 23-inch 1-by-6 leg supports to the outside of the 23-inch 2-by-4s, making them flush with the end of the floor. Attach the 18-inch 2-by-4s (legs) at each corner by using the electric drill and the 2-inch screws, securing each leg with two screws in the top and two in each side.
Find the 48-inch 2-by-4 and the two, 12-inch 1-by-4s. Using the 2-inch screws and the drill, attach the 1-by-4s to the front of the 2-by-4, creating a ̶0;V.̶1; Then measure and position the completed ̶0;stay̶1; bar half way in̵2;2 feet̵2;on the short side of the stand. Attach the bar to the 1-by-6 leg support at the front of the stand using the drill and two of the 2-inch screws and the electric drill. Secure in the same manner to the floor of the grooming stand. For added support, attach the L-bracket to the floor and the upright bar using 1 ½-inch screws and the electric drill.
Using the electric drill and a 1 ½-inch screw, attach one end of the light chain to the top of the ̶0;stay̶1; bar at the ̶0;V̶1; created in step 4. Secure the S-hook to the other end of the chain, using needle-nose pliers to crimp. Screw the screw eye into the opposite, top side of the ̶0;V.̶1;
