Instructions

    • 1

Find a place that is safe and secure to groom your pygmy goat. This should be a place that is quiet, and one where they can't run too far away from you.

    • 2

Tether them to a sturdy structure if they aren't tame enough to stay with you without running away. Be sure to do so gently so that they cannot be hurt by the tether.

    • 3

Talk soothingly to them, letting them know that everything is OK and that you are taking care of them. Remember that a soothing voice is often the best way for you to calm your pygmy goat.

    • 4

Comb their hair very gently, beginning with the head.

    • 5

Use the grooming comb gently on your pygmy goat, and be sure that you are getting all of the hairs below him.

    • 6

Move towards his neck and shoulders, and continue to use the comb, pulling back towards his rear end.

    • 7

Comb his back and towards his tail. Again bring the comb gently along his back and keep combing him as you do so.

    • 8

Finish with his legs and his tail. Be sure that you comb his legs all the way to the ground, and that you are gentle with his tail.

    • 9

Get his hair to be even! If his hair is long in his eyes, or is uneven along his sides, use a grooming comb to cut it evenly.
