Do wild pigs live in a den or nest?

Wild pigs don't build nests like birds. Instead, they live in dens. These dens are usually found in:

* Wallows: Muddy areas where they can cool off and roll around.

* Thickets: Dense vegetation provides cover and protection.

* Underneath tree roots: They can dig into the ground and create burrows under tree roots.

* Abandoned burrows: Wild pigs are opportunistic and will often take over burrows made by other animals like armadillos or rabbits.

The dens are used for:

* Sleeping: They provide shelter from the elements and predators.

* Raising young: They give piglets a safe place to grow and learn.

* Escaping danger: They can quickly retreat into their dens if threatened.

So, while not technically a nest, wild pigs create and use dens for a variety of purposes.
