How are king cheetahs and regular the same?

King cheetahs and regular cheetahs are the same species, Acinonyx jubatus, but they have a different coat pattern. King cheetahs have larger, more widely spaced spots than regular cheetahs, and their spots may also be darker in color. In addition, king cheetahs have a thicker mane and a more robust body than regular cheetahs.

Although they have a different coat pattern, king cheetahs are not a separate subspecies of cheetah. They are simply a genetic variant of the regular cheetah. King cheetah cubs are born with the same coat pattern as regular cheetah cubs, but their spots gradually become larger and more widely spaced as they grow older.

King cheetahs are found in the same areas as regular cheetahs, but they are much rarer. It is estimated that there are only about 30 king cheetahs in the world.
