Things You'll Need
- Motion alarms
- Rope
- Cloth
- Traps
Instructions
Bring all livestock into the barn or an enclosed area at night. Keep a dog out to roam the pastures during the day. Fence around grazing areas and put a lock on the barn that isn't easy to open. The more barriers for the wolves to get through, the less likely they are to get the livestock.
Install a motion alarm that lights the entire area around it and sounds a siren when triggered. The wolves won't like the sudden lighting and the noises. This will frighten them off and possibly keep them away. Place these around the barns and in the fields or pastures, if possible.
Hang a rope around the perimeter of the grazing area or fence with pieces of cloth. Wolves don't like disruptions in their environment. The wolves will notice the flags waving in the wind and blocking the farm. The sudden change will make them feel uncomfortable and they are likely to leave the area alone for a period of time.
Trap the wolves and relocate them. Use a small dead rabbit for bait For wolves who persist in attacking your livestock, this may be the only option. This can be very dangerous and you will need to call the animal control organization in your area. Never try to get a wolf out of a trap by yourself.
