- Measuring tape
- (2) 2-inch by 12-inch boards, cut 3 feet long
- (2) 2-inch by 12-inch boards, cut 30 inches long
- 1-inch wood nails
- (1) 2-inch by 12-inch board, cut 26 inches long
- (2) 2-inch by 12-inch boards, cut 2 feet long
Instructions
Measure to the middle of one of the 2-inch by 12-inch by 3-foot boards along the 12-inch side. Mark this measurement. Measure three inches down from the top, where you have made the marking, on either side of the 3-foot sides of the board. Draw a connecting line from the middle marking to each marking on the side.
Saw along both lines and discard the excess wood triangle. The end result should be a point in the top of the wood. Repeat this with the other board.
Place the (2) 2-inch by 12-inch by 30-inch boards on either side of this triangle on both boards at either end.
Nail the 30-inch-long boards into the top of the 3-foot boards, with them positioned at either end of the top boards, using two nails for each side (eight nails total). The end result should be a houselike shape with a roof.
Place the 2-inch by 12-inch by 26-inch board between the two 3-foot-long end boards 1 1/2 feet up from the bottom. Nail it securely. This will be the support board.
Flip the rack over so it is sitting on one of the slanted boards. Center each 2-inch by 12-inch by 2-foot board on the bottom of each 3-foot board. Nail them in to create feet for the rack.
Stand the rack back to its normal upright position on the newly nailed feet. Place the saddle blanket on the stand, and then place your saddle on the blanket.
