How to Build a Ramp for a Rabbit Hutch

If the door to your rabbit hutch is fairly high, it is a good idea to build a ramp to make it easier for your rabbits to go inside the hutch. This is a very easy, inexpensive project. You probably even have all the necessary materials around the house.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the height from the ground to the bottom of the hutch door. A proper ramp will be twice as long as this height.

    • 2

Cut the one-by-four to the above length.

    • 3

Mark points on both the left and right edges of the one-by-four every 3 inches.

    • 4

Count the number of marks on the one-by-four. For example, for a 7-inch one-by-four ramp, you will have two points.

    • 5

Cut the one-by-two into 3 1/2-inch sections. Cut as many sections as the number of points on the one-by-four.

    • 6

Screw the one-by-two sections onto the one-by-four at the marked points.

    • 7

Screw the top of the ramp down at the base of the hutch door. Be sure not to interfere with closing the door.
