Things You'll Need
- Sawdust
- Wood chips
- Broom
- Trash bag or wheel barrow
- Shovel
Instructions
Sweep the sawdust and wood chips to the center of the room and shovel it into a trash bag or wheelbarrow. Some farmers even supply wood shops with 55 gallon drums to fill with sawdust over time, and then pick the drums up once or twice a month.
Sweep out the animal's sleeping quarters before moving the sawdust in.
Shovel the sawdust and wood chips into the animal's quarter. Create a pile relative to the size of the animal. Shape the pile into a soft, flat "pillow" large enough for the animal to sleep on.
Change the sawdust one to three times a week, depending on the amount of time the animal stays in the area and the cleanliness of the sawdust.
