Who came up with the idea of bull riding?
The exact origins of bull riding are unclear, but it is believed to have developed from the sport of bull baiting, which was popular in Europe and Mexico during the medieval period. Bull baiting involved tying a bull to a stake and then setting dogs on it to attack it. Over time, this practice evolved into what is now known as rodeo bull riding, in which riders attempt to stay on top of a bucking bull for as long as possible. Bull riding was first introduced in the United States in the early 1800s and quickly became a popular sport at rodeos and other Western events.
