Yes, there is a youth deer season in Indiana.

Season Dates:

* October 1-15, 2023

* November 5-19, 2023

Eligibility:

* Must be 17 years of age or younger on the first day of the season

* Must be accompanied by a licensed adult (18 years of age or older)

Bag Limit:

* One antlered deer or two antlerless deer per day

* Season bag limit of two antlered deer and four antlerless deer

Harvest Tag Required:

A youth deer harvest tag is required for all youth hunters.

Tags are available online or at any DNR fish and wildlife office.

Cost: $10

Hunter Education Requirement:

All youth hunters must have successfully completed a DNR-approved hunter education course.

Proof of hunter education must be carried while hunting.

Other Regulations:

* All youth deer hunters must wear hunter orange while hunting.

* Deer may only be taken with a bow and arrow, muzzleloader, or shotgun.

* Rifles are not permitted for deer hunting during the youth deer season.

* Deer may only be taken during legal hunting hours.

* All deer harvested during the youth deer season must be registered with the DNR within 48 hours of harvest.
