What do polar bears eat?

Polar bears are carnivores and their diet consists primarily of:

* Seals: This is their main food source. They hunt seals by waiting near breathing holes in the ice or by ambushing them on land.

* Other marine mammals: They may occasionally prey on walruses, beluga whales, or even other polar bears.

* Carrion: They will scavenge on dead animals, especially seals that have been killed by other predators.

* Birds: They may eat birds, eggs, and chicks.

They do not eat vegetation, but they may sometimes consume the stomach contents of their prey, which might include some plant material.
