Here's why:
* Different habitats: Snow leopards live in the high mountains of Central Asia, while red pandas are found in the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. Their ranges only overlap slightly.
* Dietary differences: Snow leopards are primarily carnivores, preying on large mammals like ibex, wild sheep, and marmots. Red pandas, on the other hand, are omnivores, primarily eating bamboo but also consuming small mammals, birds, and insects.
* Size difference: Snow leopards are much larger than red pandas, weighing an average of 75-120 pounds. Red pandas are relatively small, weighing only 8-14 pounds.
While it's possible that a snow leopard could encounter a red panda, it's unlikely they would consider them a regular food source.
