What do giant pandas eat in captivity?

Giant pandas mainly eat bamboo in captivity, just as they do in the wild. Their diet consists almost exclusively of bamboo (about 99%), with occasional supplements such as fruits, vegetables, and specially formulated diets. Some captive pandas may also be given small amounts of honey, yogurt, or other treats as enrichment. Zoos and animal care facilities ensure that pandas have a balanced diet and access to fresh, high-quality bamboo to meet their nutritional needs and maintain good health.
