What kind of food do snow leopards eat?
Snow leopards are carnivores and primarily hunt and eat wild mountain ungulates such as blue sheep (bharal), ibex, markhor, argali, Siberian ibex, Himalayan tahr, urial and goats. They may also feed on smaller prey like marmots, pikas, hares, birds, and livestock like sheep and goats when their primary prey is scarce. Snow leopards are opportunistic predators and adapt their hunting strategies based on the availability of food sources in their habitat. In times of scarcity, they might even venture into human settlements in search of food.
