When do ferrets eat?

Ferrets are small carnivorous mammals that are known for their playful nature and curious demeanor. Their diet consists mainly of meat and they typically eat small, frequent meals throughout the day. Ferrets usually start their day with a meal and then continue to eat small amounts throughout the day, with most of their food being consumed during the evening hours. They generally have several small meals a day, rather than one or two large ones, and prefer prey with high protein content such as mice, rats, rabbits and other small animals. In captivity, pet ferrets are typically fed prepared diets that are specially formulated to meet their nutritional needs. These may include dry kibble, canned foods or raw meat diets. Ferret owners typically feed their pets twice daily, although some may choose to offer food more frequently.
