Elephants are large mammals that live in herds and need a lot of space to roam and forage for food. They are not built for digging burrows, and their large size makes it impractical.
Instead, elephants may rest in the shade of trees, or in areas with dense vegetation. They may also create temporary sleeping spots by pushing down branches or using their trunks to make indentations in the ground.
