Here's why they are considered more ground-dwelling than canopy dwellers:
* They spend most of their time on the ground: Leopards hunt, eat, and travel primarily on the forest floor.
* They are strong climbers but not adapted for constant tree life: While they are excellent climbers and use trees for resting, hiding from predators, and storing prey, they don't spend most of their time up there like some primates or arboreal animals.
So, while leopards are great climbers and use the canopy, they are not considered canopy dwellers in the same way as, for example, monkeys.
