What are manatees prey?

Manatees are herbivores, meaning they eat plants. They are not predators and do not prey on other animals.

Their diet consists mainly of:

* Seagrass: This is their primary food source, and they can eat up to 10% of their body weight in seagrass per day.

* Aquatic plants: They also eat other submerged and emergent plants, including algae, water hyacinth, and water lettuce.

* Fruits and vegetables: They may occasionally eat fallen fruit or vegetables that reach the water.

So, instead of having prey, manatees are prey themselves, being vulnerable to predators like alligators and sharks.
