Ferret Hammock Instructions

Ferrets are very interesting and active pets. When they are awake, they are curious and fun-loving. But ferrets spend a large part of their day sleeping and laying about. They also like privacy and cozy, warm environments. Hammocks provide the perfect cover for daytime snoozing, peeking out at the world around them or staging a sneak attack on their play buddy. Make a hammock from an old fleece jacket has your comforting scent.

  • Used fleece jacket
  • Scissors
  • Nylon rope

Instructions

      Zip up the used fleece jacket.

      Cut off both sleeves with the scissors.

      Remove the pocket liners with the scissors.

      Lay the fleece jacket flat on the work surface with the front facing up.

      Cut a 1-inch diagonal slit at each shoulder and about the same distance apart at the hips, only through the top layer.

      Cut two 3-foot sections of nylon rope. Thread the rope from one hip to the shoulder and pull through, leaving about a foot hanging on each end. Repeat with the other side.

      Tie the four ends of the nylon rope to the top bars of the ferret cage far enough away from each other to spread out the hammock.
