Is a cave bear bigger than polar bear?

The cave bear was a species of bear that lived during the Pleistocene epoch. It is estimated to have been the largest bear that ever lived which has been measured up to 11.5 feet (3.5 m) long and weighed more than 2,200 pounds (1,000 kg).

Polar bear are the largest living bear species. Males typically weigh between 775 to 1,210 pounds (352 to 549 kg) and measure 8 to 10 feet (2.4 to 3 m) in length.

Based on these measurements it can be concluded that the cave bear was larger on average than the polar bear.
