Bed: White-tailed Deer make a depression known as a ''bed'' in tall grass, ferns, and young growth. They select a spot that provides concealment and protection from the sun and wind. When the does have fawns, they will clean and prepare the bed beforehand. Deer will visit these beds every 4 to 6 hours, bedding at night and throughout the day. Deer tend to stay within 100 yards of their bed during day light.
