What is that snow grouse?
Snow grouse (Lagopus muta) are medium-sized grouse found in the Arctic and alpine regions of North America, Europe, and Asia. They have seasonal plumage changes which help them camouflage in their environment. In winter they have white plumage that blends with the snowy background, and in summer they display mottled brown and rufous plumage that camouflages them among rocks and vegetation. Snow grouse feed primarily on buds, leaves, berries, and insects. They inhabit alpine habitats such as tundra, meadows, and rocky slopes, and are adapted to cold temperatures.
