How far of a fall can ferrets survive?
Ferrets are relatively small, slender animals that are very agile and have a great ability to climb and jump. However, they are still susceptible to injury if they fall from a great height. The height that a ferret can survive a fall from is determined by several factors, including the landing surface, the ferret's weight and body shape, the ferret's age and health, and the distance of the fall. Most healthy adult ferrets will survive a fall of about 3-4 feet without serious injury. However, falls from greater heights can result in injuries such as broken bones, internal bleeding, or even death. The landing surface also affects the severity of the injury. Falls onto a soft, grassy surface are less likely to cause injury than falls onto a hard, concrete surface. Additionally, heavier ferrets are generally more likely to survive a fall than smaller ferrets, and younger ferrets are more likely to survive a fall than older ferrets. It is also important to keep in mind that falls from any height can be dangerous for ferrets and should be avoided as much as possible.
