How many species of animals are there in the Amazon rainforest?
It is estimated that the Amazon rainforest is home to between 10%-15% of the world's known species including more than 40 thousand plant species (of all which 30 thousands exist only in the Amazonian territory), almost 430 mammals, more than 2,200 fish species, over 400 amphibians, about 378 reptiles and more than 3 thousand of birds which all constitute approximately between 438.000 to 512.000 insect species.
