- Level I: These lymph nodes are located along the lower border of the pectoralis major muscle.
- Level II: These lymph nodes are located behind the pectoralis minor muscle.
- Level III: These lymph nodes are located near the apex of the axilla, beneath the clavicle.
The axillary lymph nodes drain lymph from the upper limb, the breast, and the chest wall. They play an important role in the immune system by filtering out bacteria and other harmful substances from the lymph.
