What are predators of the leopard seal?

Leopard seals are apex predators in their environment and typically have no natural predators in the wild.

However, there are a few exceptions:

* Larger Orcas (Killer Whales): While adult leopard seals are generally too large for orcas to easily prey on, young seals and sometimes even adults can fall victim to these large, powerful predators.

* Polar Bears: In areas where their ranges overlap, particularly in the Arctic, polar bears can pose a threat to leopard seals, especially if the seals are on land or ice.

* Human Activity: Although not a natural predator, human activity can negatively impact leopard seal populations. Overfishing, pollution, and climate change can all disrupt their ecosystem and threaten their survival.

It's important to remember that leopard seals are formidable predators themselves, and their aggressive nature helps them maintain their position at the top of the food chain.
