Can a mastiff kill bear?

Mastiffs are large and powerful dogs that have been used for centuries as guardians and protectors. However, they are not typically used for hunting bears, and there is no evidence to suggest that they can kill bears. Bears are much larger and stronger than mastiffs, and they have sharp claws and teeth that can easily inflict serious injuries. Mastiffs also do not have the same level of agility and speed as bears, which would make it difficult for them to catch a bear and bring it down.

There have been a few cases of mastiffs killing bears, but these are rare and exceptional circumstances. In most cases, a mastiff that encounters a bear will either flee or be killed.
