Do people kill otters for their fur?

While otters have valuable and luxurious fur, there is no widespread commercial hunting or trapping of otters for fur. In some instances, otters may be legally trapped for population management or conflict resolution, such as in the case of river otters in certain regions. However, the fur trade involving otters is relatively small compared to other fur-bearing animals due to various reasons, including conservation concerns, animal welfare regulations, and the availability of alternative fur sources.
